Services: Fire Door Remedial Works

Project details

Helix FMS was appointed by FI Management to deliver fire door remediation works across multiple residential blocks at Wear House, Peterlee. Bringing a number of fire doors back up to regulatory standards, ensuring compliance with BS 8214 and BS 476.

Fire doors are a critical component of any building’s passive fire strategy, especially in multi-occupancy residential developments. This project is another example of Helix FMS supporting property managers in meeting their fire safety obligations with efficiency, expertise, and transparency.

Following a full site induction and pre-start briefing, Helix FMS was tasked with remedial works on 8 identified fire doors across Blocks A, B and C. During the visit, an additional 2 doors were found to require attention, bringing the total to 10 doors.

Each door was inspected and assessed, with remediation carried out to ensure full compliance with applicable fire safety standards. All 10 doors were successfully remediated and brought back in line with relevant fire performance requirements. The client received a comprehensive report and photographic register, providing traceable, evidence-based sign-off for all remedial actions.

Functional and compliant fire doors are essential in safeguarding occupants and meeting legal obligations under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order. This project is a strong example of Helix FMS’s responsive approach to remedial works, helping building managers tackle non-compliance proactively and efficiently.
