Services: Passive Fire Survey

Project details

Helix FMS delivered passive fire protection works at the newly constructed Scartho Primary School in Grimsby, in partnership with Hobson & Porter. Ensuring fire safety in educational settings is a legal and moral obligation, particularly in new builds where high volumes of service penetrations must be properly addressed to maintain effective fire compartmentation.

Following our initial survey of the site, Helix FMS was instructed to implement certified fire-stopping solutions to all identified items. All items were highlighted during the surveys, all of which required remediation. Where additional penetrations had been made after initial works, we re-attended to provide extra fire-stopping solutions, maintaining the integrity of the building’s fire compartmentation strategy.

All fire-stopping works were carried out using certified materials in full alignment with manufacturer specifications and UK building regulations. The project was successfully completed with all identified issues rectified and documented. Our team ensured that Scartho Primary School now meets full passive fire safety compliance, with robust compartmentation measures in place to protect staff, pupils, and visitors.

The final Passive Fire Register provides a clear audit trail and peace of mind for the client, should future inspections or modifications be required. Helix FMS continues to support the education sector by providing reliable, regulation-compliant fire safety services. Our meticulous approach and responsive aftercare ensure that newly built learning environments are fit for purpose, fully protected, and ready for use.
