Project details
As part of the Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust’s commitment to fire safety across all of its facilities, Helix FMS was instructed to carry out a comprehensive fire door survey at the District Medical Records building located on Harrow Street, Hull.
The purpose of this survey was to assess the condition and compliance of all fire doors across multiple floors, ensuring they met legal requirements and were suitable for their life safety role in the event of a fire.
Our fire door experts carried out a thorough visual inspection of 92 fire doors, including: 50 doors on the Ground Floor, 17 doors on the Ground Floor +1 level and 25 doors on the First Floor.
All doors were photographed and catalogued, and the survey was accompanied by marked-up floor plans showing the precise location of each door surveyed. Our team compiled a comprehensive Fire Door Register and we advised that all doors with uncertified GWPP glazing be replaced with certified fire door sets, and that the client review fire plans for accuracy and update fire strategy documentation as needed.
Helix FMS is proud to support NHS Trusts across the UK by delivering expert passive fire protection services, from fire door surveys and installations to fire stopping and remediation. In environments where lives depend on the reliability of safety systems, precision and compliance are non-negotiable.
