Helix FMS was appointed by ASM Global, the world’s leading venue management and services company, to carry out a comprehensive passive fire survey at the iconic Connexin Live Arena in Hull. This large-scale project involved the inspection of all fire compartment walls across multiple levels of the arena, ensuring the facility remains compliant, secure, and safe for the thousands of visitors it hosts each year.
Our experienced survey team worked in close collaboration with on-site facilities management, navigating access-sensitive areas with minimal disruption to the venue’s operations.
The objective of the survey was to: Assess the integrity of all existing passive fire protection, identify any defects or areas requiring remedial action, map all findings to marked-up floor plans with photographic records and flag inaccessible zones for further investigation/discussion. This proactive approach helps ensure that the arena’s fire protection strategy remains robust and fully up to the standards required for a high-capacity public building.
Each defect item was thoroughly photographed, logged, and plotted onto cross-referenced, marked-up building drawings, providing ASM Global with full clarity on remedial priorities.
