Services: Passive Fire Survey

Project details

As part of ongoing improvement works at the Fenner Building, Voase Builders appointed Helix FMS to undertake passive fire protection works across the ground floor. Our team was instructed to identify and address a series of fire safety defects requiring remediation. The works formed part of a proactive approach to ensuring building compartmentation met statutory compliance and safety standards.

Working collaboratively with the on-site team, Helix FMS carried out a detailed inspection and fire-stopping installation across the designated areas.Following a full site induction, Helix FMS’s third-party certified passive fire installers began remediation in the lift motor room, progressing systematically through the building.

Using certified materials under the BM Trada Q-Mark scheme, all items were sealed and verified in accordance with relevant standards and manufacturer specifications. A full photographic log and drawing-based register were compiled, forming part of the deliverables.

The collaboration between Helix FMS and Voase Builders ensured that fire compartmentation at the Fenner Building now meets stringent fire safety regulations. Our meticulous documentation and certified work give the University of Hull complete confidence in the integrity of its fire protection infrastructure.
