Project details
Helix FMS was instructed by VIC Coupland to carry out certified passive fire protection works in the plant room of Alexandra Health Care Centre. The focus of this project was to assess and remediate a number of fire safety breaches related to service penetrations. Ensuring the mechanical infrastructure within the building maintained effective fire compartmentation in line with UK fire safety regulations.
Plant rooms are critical in any facility, especially in healthcare environments, where maintaining the integrity of fire compartments helps protect both life and essential systems in the event of an emergency.
Helix FMS attended site to carry out fire-stopping works based on defects identified by the client. These issues posed a risk to the building’s fire safety strategy and required prompt remediation to restore compliance.
All fire-stopping works were carried out by Helix FMS’s certified installers and the completed works were documented in a Passive Fire Register. This approach guarantees clarity, accountability, and a clear audit trail for the client and any future inspections.
The plant room at Alexandra Health Care Centre now benefits from restored and compliant compartmentation, reducing the risk of fire spread and enhancing the overall safety of the facility. All works were delivered efficiently and in coordination with the client’s team to minimise disruption to ongoing operations.
This project reinforces Helix FMS’s strength in delivering passive fire protection solutions in operational healthcare environments, where attention to detail, compliance, and safety are paramount. Whether working in public hospitals or private clinics, we bring the same commitment to quality, transparency, and care.
