Project details
Helix FMS was appointed by Helix CMS to deliver passive fire protection services as part of the refurbishment of B2 Ward at the Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby. This involved surveying and sealing key fire compartment walls to ensure the site met the highest safety and compliance standards.
Our expert team worked within a live healthcare environment, carefully coordinating with the on-site team to minimise disruption to daily operations and prioritise the safety of patients, staff, and contractors throughout the works.
The project began with a detailed passive fire survey of all relevant fire-rated walls. Every penetration was thoroughly assessed, documented, and scheduled for remedial action. Following the survey, certified fire-stopping works were completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications by our qualified installers.
All findings and actions were compiled into a Passive Fire Register, which included cross-referenced drawings and photographic evidence to provide full traceability and client assurance.
Working in healthcare settings demands both technical skill and careful planning. Helix FMS understands the complexities of NHS environments and delivers every project with professionalism and precision.
Whether it's a full ward refurbishment or minor remedial works, we ensure every facility is fully protected against the risk of fire, aligned with current legislation and best practice.
